For more than 30 years, Coastal Equities with offices in Weston, Florida and Garden City, New York has been one of the most active real estate companies, specializing in investment, development, syndication opportunities and management of retail shopping centers.

Formed in the late 1970’s, our founding principals were involved in real estate investment for their own accounts, as well as advising others that were clients of their accounting firm. Since then we have been responsible for placing and managing more than $1,000,000,000 of investments nationwide. We have the experience in managing over 40,000,000 square feet of commercial real estate, as well as a broad range of construction and redevelopment jobs.

Coastal Equities focuses on grocery-anchored neighborhood and community shopping centers with a high volume of repeat shopper traffic. We are familiar with the challenges involved in developing and operating retail shopping centers and we have the management and expert capabilities in-house to successfully manage and grow our investments.

To best serve our investors and tenants, Coastal Equities operations are structured as follows:

  • Coastal Equities Property Management - oversees all management and leasing of investments placed by Coastal Equities. Common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, general accounting, property management and leasing are the main functions of this group. Property management involves the processes, systems and manpower required to manage the life cycle of all acquired property, including acquisition, control, accountability, responsibility, maintenance, utilization, and disposition. By managing these services in-house, Coastal Equities is often able to reduce the cost of management on recently acquired projects and keep those costs throughout the term of the investment.
  • Coastal Equities Real Estate Investment Services - acts as investment manager for all investments by Coastal Equities and the group has led investments in many forms of real estate including shopping centers, office, condominiums, single family housing, rental apartments, self storage facilities, foreclosure, mortgages and more. The typical real estate investor has been investing with Coastal equities for more than 15 years. Through this group millions of both commercial and residential square feet have been acquired, managed and sold.

  • Analysis of Investment Goals: Our investment criteria are to purchase properties on the basis of cash flow situation combined with capital appreciation potential. In assessing investments, we evaluate the cash flow, potential appreciation, economic stability and tax benefits prior to making a decision to purchase a property.
  • Negotiations and Purchase: Over 150 major real estate properties successfully purchased by Coastal give the company an excellent reputation as a serious and successful investor in the real estate industry. Coastal also manages all of its own properties.

Principals

Edward Ross, CPA

Edward is a founding partner of Finkle, Ross and Rost, a New York based accounting and business development firm with over 40 years experience. In 1975, Edward formed Coastal Equities as a way to manage real estate investments for clients. Since formation, he has successfully lead hundreds of transactions for the Coastal Equities team. In addition to real estate investments, Edward has directed investments in companies, securities and other structured investment vehicles. His focus on entrepreneurialism, cost management, risk assessment and cash flow form the fundamental operating and investment strategy for Coastal Equities.

Scott Ross

Scott is an experienced financial advisor and real estate developer. Scott has been a principal at Coastal Equities since 1996. During his tenure, Scott has uncovered dozens of real estate investments which have consistently delivered double digit returns.

Howard Arnberg, ESQ.

Howard is a member of the NYS Bar Association and a Licensed Real Estate Broker. His background includes work at the NYS Attorney General’s Office, Real Estate Finance Division, attorney for the Law Firm of Ruskin, Moscou, Evans and Faltischek, LLC as well as significant experience in developing franchise and retail operations, lease negotiations
and corporate finance.
